Artist CATALIN HRIMIUC at Senso Gallery

Thursday, October 26th, 2017, Senso Art Gallery hosted, in an extraordinary atmosphere, the opening of the personal exhibition of artist CATALIN HRIMIUC, bringing to the art-loving audience a distinguished collection of optical crystal sculptures. The event was presented by historian and art critic Doina Pauleanu, Senso Gallery expert: "Predominantly vertical, pure, otherworldly, similar to light flares, the optical glass works made by Catalin Hrimiuc urge, on the one hand, to search for long-dead civilisations in order to find in their unique and ever since repeatable forms, symbolic correspondences, mysteries (yet) uncleared, indices befitting to the initiated. (...)while the duration is inscribed in formal perfection, in the material and technique of these monolithic constructions, Catalin Hrimiuc has found the way to capture, as an accomplice, the time by the way light becomes co-author of his works. The second invitation contained in these ingenious object-like compositions, is addressed, undoubtedly and gracefully, to a predictable future".

Catalin Hrimiuc graduated "Nicolae Grigorescu" Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, 1985 series of graduates, the Ceramics - Glass - Metal Department, major in the Art of Glass. He is a member of the Romanian Fine Artists' Union and has works in private collections and museums in Japan, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Italy, France, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland and Romania.
