Mihaela Speranța Cherciu started her artistic journey at the age of 10, experiencing drawing, painting, modeling and fashion design. After graduating the Academy of Arts in 1998, the textiles and fashion design department, she worked both as a scenographer at the Sică Alexandrescu Theater in Brașov, and stylist for various magazines. After a while, she opened an art gallery, which she has taken care of for 10 years.
At the beginning of 2015, she decided to take a new direction and this is how Atelierul de Porțelan was born. It wasn’t easy, as the entire process is complex, but with perseverance and courage, new and special things can be obtained.
During the 3 years of activity, the Workshop produced over 15 collections of jewelry or other interior design objects and participated at dozens of profile fairs in Bucharest. In May 2018, the”Grandmother’s Ghost” Collection was selected for the Contemporary Jewelry Fair AUTOR.
At the beginning of September 2018, the project ”Cocarda Junilor” (”The Young Men’s Roundel”) won the contest ”Centenar Creativ” (”Creative Centenary”) organized by the National Museum Cotroceni.
