Viorica Iacob

Viorica Iacob’s exhibition Earth and waves comprises works of painting, graphics and tapestry in a selection with an evident retrospective quality, since the first work on the picture rails of the Senso Gallery was done in 1972, the last in 2012, and the ones that are undated are attributable, according to the comparative analysis aimed at the seemingly imperceptible transformations of the figurative forms, to the interval that extends to this year. Most images – in which case we are talking about gouaches on paper – bear the title Tilled soil, the tapestries belong to the series Moist soil, and the Black Sea cycle comprises both oils and gouaches treated differently, depending on the specificity of each technique, but completely unitary in terms of the adopted plastic vocabulary.
